Try, and you'll find out what you are capable of

An inspiring message from EBB leadership about pushing boundaries.

When we founded Extreme Broadband more than a decade ago, we were a small team of engineers with one conviction: Malaysia deserved world-class network infrastructure built by people who understood the ground. We did not have the backing of a government-linked conglomerate or a multinational parent. What we had was expertise, restless curiosity, and the willingness to try.

From a Single POP to a National Backbone

Our earliest point of presence was a modest rack in Cyberjaya. From there we laid fibre into Putrajaya, then south to Johor Bahru, north to Penang, and east to Kuantan. Each new route was a bet — on demand that had not yet materialised, on customers who were still evaluating us against incumbents ten times our size. Every one of those bets paid off, not because we were lucky, but because we refused to stop at the first obstacle.

Today EBB operates data centres across Peninsular Malaysia, runs the JBIX Internet Exchange in Johor Bahru, and delivers dedicated connectivity to enterprises, carriers, and hyperscale content providers. None of that was inevitable. It happened because individuals inside this company were willing to try things that looked difficult.

A Culture of Builders

We are, at heart, an engineering company. Our NOC team monitors traffic around the clock. Our fibre crews splice cables in the rain. Our solutions architects sit with customers until the design is right. That hands-on culture is what separates us from providers who treat connectivity as a commodity. For us, every link we light up is a piece of critical infrastructure that someone's business depends on.

"The telecom industry rewards those who build, not those who wait. If you try, you discover capabilities you never knew you had. If you don't, someone else will." — Mohamad Syazwan, CEO, Extreme Broadband Sdn Bhd

What Comes Next

Malaysia's digital economy is entering its most dynamic phase. Data consumption is surging, cloud adoption is accelerating, and the country's strategic position between Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia makes it a natural hub for regional traffic. EBB intends to be at the centre of that growth — not by resting on what we have built, but by trying what comes next.

To our team: keep trying. To our customers: thank you for trusting a company that never stops building. To the wider industry: the best infrastructure is built by people who believe they can, and then prove it.
